Another bike ride and another week of the journey over.
.
It is the end of another week and I have been on my A game for the journey. Today I did another bike ride and though it was not as long it was much harder. Both becuase I have not given myself much time to rest and because I have been picking paths that I have not done before and this one was trails and hills and was not something I expected when I looked up the path. I thought that when I started there was a small hill and some trail with a little hill but when I got there the hill was longer and steeper than I thought and the paths hill was short but very steep and hard to climb on a bike as it was a dirt path. That being said I pushed through it and continued biking. The speed and distance is nothing impressive but getting out there and biking has been a very good thing for me to keep going and change up the surroundings. I am not stuck at a treadmill or running the same mile loops around my house. The trail was a good and bad ride at the same time. The hill leading to the main part of the trail was tough but the parts after it were muddy and swampy so after the trail I had to ride another 3-4 miles back to the paved part of the trail that leads to my house. I ended up covered in mud and more worn out than any other thing I have done so far. I also tried to push myself to go faster on the part of the trail closest to me as I have done that part before and wanted to see how fast I could go. I ended up feeling a bit awful right after the ride. Though now reflecting back on it 8 hours later I feel awesome and ready for more. Though I am going to have to give myself a day of rest becuase my legs even at the start of the ride were feeling very stressed. Like they felt like I had been running all day already and I just started my ride. A day of rest is going to be needed soon to fix this I think. The total number of hours I was exercising last week is 7:53 that does include some extra walking I have been doing. I added the walking in becuase it has been nice out and I wanted to have something outside other than just biking. I am going to start running outside as well but I have to find a good route to do that will be around the 3 mile or 5k distance. I want to keep my daily run to at least 3 miles and I am doing that on the treadmill right now such as the running on the 19th where I ended up doing 4.22 miles. That run was more running than walking and felt awesome to do.You can also see I logged it with Strava and it tied right into the Samsung app and I find that amazing that I can use either and they are both going to give the same information and I can look at the logs in either place. The Strava logs seem to be a bit better but Samsung logs have more information with out having to pay for things. The only major downside to Samsung other than no one using it is that it has only the together challange and nothing else. There is nothing to really look at for a challange to push you to go. I have done a few of the Strava challanges so far and that is rewarding in a silly way. I don't think they are like the best thing ever but getting badges is a little something to do other than just making my own progess and posting it here. I wish that the Samsung app had a bit more to do it would be much more usefull but I think they are not putting that much effort into it.
I weighed myself in the morning before I went for my ride but I had forgot to do the measurements from the Samsung watch so all I have to go on is the numbers from the scale. Seeing as I did not go down any percent body fat and only 1 LBs or so of weight I am going to have to think the measurements from the watch would have been very similar. Either way I am losing weight again and staring to be hapy about it after a bit of a stall in weight loss. The biggest thing is the pants I wanted to fit properly still don't but they are getting closer and closer so I am hopefull they will fit correctly soon.
Tomorrow I am going to add in some weights to the journey and continue getting out on my bike. I am also going to make sure to continue running every day until I can get to a full run for 3 miles and not have to walk any of it at all.
I am off to continue the journey! Have a wonderful day and thank you for reading!
