Sunday Update on progress.

I have been doing very good again. I had reached a plateau last week or so I thought anyway but the end of this week was much better. The screenshot if from yesterday because I forgot to weigh myself today and get the numbers. I rushed out of the house to go for a bike ride and just grabbed my water and left. There was no time to weigh in.

I have been doing very good on the diet I set up for myself. Which I thought I was going to have a harder time with but after a little bit it changed and I feel like I could stick with how I am doing it for a very long time. I am not saying no to "good" foods I am just making sure that I keep with in my calorie limits and do not go crazy every day. Yesterday was a bit of an off day I hosted a birthday party for my one year old son and I made the cake. I did not bother logging any of the calories for the food yesterday as I am sure I would have been in the 5,000 range with just the cake I ate. Either way that is not the normal day to day so it will not ruin my journey it will just be one day that I ate far too much. I feel like I need to have at least a few days of putting the diet aside and eating anything I like to keep the journey going. One day out of the month will not ruin my journey I am still able to bike further and faster than I ever have in my life and that feels awesome to me.

Last week I was able to get in 7 different work sessions which I kept forgetting to log the 1 mile I walk my dog on so those are not included in here. I feel happy about the amount of miles and the hours of exercise I did but I am a litte short of where I would like to be. I want to have each of the bike sessiosn and the runs be atleast 1 hour long so 7 sessions should have been 7 hours but life gets in the way sometimes so I wont beat myself up about being an hour and 16 minutes short of my goal.

The exercise and the dieting was also not the solution to the plateau I mentioned. I was reasearching a bit about other peoples journey and what got them over their plateaus and most of the people mentioned drinking more water. Now I like water and I have no issues drinking more of it but I did not see how that was going to help me lose any wieght or anything like that. I thought about it for a minute and its not like trying to drink more water would cause any problems other than me having to pee every 10 minutes so I gave it a try. Well I must have been dehydrated because the day after going from drinking 2-3 cups of water to somewhere closer to 15 cups I lost another LB. Same thing happend the day after that. I will not pretend I know the reason behind this becasue I am not a biologist but it seemed to work. I also do not think it is going to keep at the same rate it will slow down. I am going to make sure that I add more water to my daily habits so that I do not end up dehydrated again. I am still going to drink 3 cups of coffee a day and other liquids that I drink I am just adding more water.

Other thought I have been having recently is I am putting all this effort into bikiing and running but I am not joining any clubs or registering for any races. I do not think I would win a race but I have been thinking it might be fun to at least run or bike in a race to prove to myself that I can do something timed and more official than just logging miles and times on my own. In trying to find races near me I find a lot of shady looking websites or a lot of races that you register from a facebook group and I do not like facebook at all and shady sites make me not want to enter in my information to them. The only one I could find near me that was not on a shady website or behind a facebook group was a triatholon but that means I would have to find a place to train to swim and I don't think I could get my swimming training done in time to join a race like that. Where do other people find races to join that are not on facebook or shady websites or is that the best way to find those things and I am being to cautious and those sites though shady looking are fine to sign up on. Strava does not seem to have anything listed for races or maybe I am missing it on there but they do have the clubs. I have not joined any of the clubs near my yet but I think I will be joining at least the bike club soon.

I am off to continue the journey! Have a wonderful day and thank you for reading!
