Another Week More Exercising!

Image
Another Week More Exercising. It has been a bit of a tougher week for exercising. I have been keeping at it but the weather has not been on my side for cycling but also I can not wake up in the morning. I still need to work on my running anyway so I got on the treadmill and lifted a bunch this week but it was still a rougher week. It has been raining in the morning and not having the energy to get ready in the cold for what ever reason ruins my day. I am not sure what happened with my energy levels in the morning but I am just not ready to wake up and cycle. I have still be getting exercising each day even with the low energy levels. It has been taking me until close to noon this week to feel ready to exercise and I am trying to figure out what the root cause of this is. It is not like I have been sick or over exerting myself. I mean I have been working out like this for months now and not had this issue other than being sick.  What am I to do about this? I am thinking i...

1 Year Blogging my journey!

1 Year of blogging my exercising! I started this blog 1 year ago today and I was not fully sure that it was something I was going to really keep up with but I have kept up with it well enough. I was over weight, not getting out of the house, and could not fit into pants that I used to go to work in every day. I was also not feeling myself in just about every way as I used to like to go to the gym or hike but it was years since I had done any of that stuff.  Today one year into the journey I have changed all of the bad things and I feel better than I have in a very long time about myself. I still have work to do and things I want to accomplish as far as exercising goes so this blog is still going to get plenty of updates. I also gained a few pounds over the winter where I was only able to ride my fat bike and over ate. One of the things I did not expect was I was going to get so obsessed with cycling. I thought that the treadmill was going to be a better purchas...

It is just about Spring again and my bike needs work!

Riding with out fully checking over my bike. I have been riding just about every day again now that most of the snow and ice has melted. There is some black ice on the ground in the morning from all the snow melting into paved trails so I have to take it a bit slow but even then it is only a few spots that are left to really worry about. I have been a bit cautious after falling a few times on ice that I could see so my rides are a little slow but that is okay I can put the fat bike away for the season and ride the gravel bike now. Last week I did a lot of riding and I am happy about it.  There is one problem with all this riding that I did not think about when I got on my gravel bike again. I checked the tires by just squeezing them and not putting a pump to them and assumed the rest of the bike was fine with no issues. As I was riding I was hearing some grinding sounds and notice a bit of rust on the fork. After the Saturday ride I had the time to take a look at my bike...

Everyday can not be the best day, but you can make the best of a bad day!

Everyday Can Not Be The Best... Today was not the best day for me but I ended up making the best of it. The start of my day was another ride on my fat bike. The ground was mostly thawed out so there was not a lot of ice yesterday and the roads were very clear today. I was about half a mile from my house when the bike became very hard to pedal and the back felt like it was in deep mud. I got off the bike and knew exactly what the problem was, I got a flat tire.  It is hard to see in the first image but the second one you can see the spike of plastic in my hand. I do not know what the trash was but it was plastic and sharp. It put a hole in the tire and inner tube. Seeing as I have cheap bikes I am not running them tubeless so a hole in the tube means I have to either patch or replace the tube. Well I was only half a mile from home and did not want to patch a tire only to have it fail later so I just walked home to get my gravel bike. This should have been my sign to call ...
